Dr. Standish grew up in southwest Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate coursework at Westminster College, where she studied biology and chemistry. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science degree at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Her family opened a small nursing home when she was a young girl. Through regular interaction with patients and their ambulatory ailments, Dr. Standish gained a great appreciation for biomechanics and the impact that mobility has on physical and mental health. Although always an avid student of the sciences, it was ultimately her experiences in elder care that led her to explore podiatric medicine. She attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Harlem, New York where she earned a doctoral degree.

Dr. Standish then completed a reconstructive foot and ankle surgical residency in Indianapolis at St. Vincent Hospital. She went on to become a private practitioner in Pennsylvania, before returning to Indiana to continue her work in private practice and serve as a surgical attending.  She enjoys many aspects of podiatric medicine and patient care. Dr. Standish is a board certified physician with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Furthermore, she enjoys teaching, singing, photography, hiking, and cooking.
